Dear Wildlife Action members that get this email:
This is your past CEO, Bunny. Because some of you have just joined Wildlife
Action, I thought it would be an appropriate time to share with you a few of
my thoughts. Wildlife Action is a conservation group. We're not for one
specific species of wildlife nor does our interest lie in one special
interest of our habitat. We're for the whole earth, God's back yard and we
strive to fix it up, not mess it up. Our five point law probably explains
it best. For example:
PRESERVATION: There are things we want to preserve forever, such as the
Grand Canyon, a way of life.
CONSERVATION: We believe if you cut one tree down, plant two back.
It is wise use of our natural resources. Use, not abuse.
EDUCATION: To teach the future generations (we call them our
pioneers) how to recycle to live among all of god's creatures and
everything that we know through Pioneer Days, camps, ICT's (Instructional
Camping Trips), etc. DO YOU KNOW WHO ALDO LEOPOLD IS?
THE BIBLE OF WILDLIFE ACTION IS "A SAND COUNTY ALMANAC" BY ALDO LEOPOLD.
You really should read it if you want to be a good leader in Wildlife
SPORTSMANSHIP: Here we teach proper etiquette, good manners, respect in
FELLOWSHIP: And we have fun doing all the above. I hope someone is
volunteering who has the skill level to help Frank cook the steaks for the
National Board meeting, because sharing is a part of our being. Share your
boat, share your hunting spot, share your knowledge with the next genertion.
And give thanks for Earth Day which has helped this country plant trees,
clean rivers and make our habitat much better.
One last thought, treat the earth gently, for she has a dented spirit which
needs healing. Be attuned to her heartbeat, for it is the same rhythm that
beats within your heart.
Strength and Honor,
